Thank you gentlemen so much for the show. This latest episode really struck home with me. As an artist at heart with a buckshot scattered past in teaching art, decorative finishing, and now a cubicle gig for a big co (season with anxiety and rumination and cook it up), I am now 39 and strugling to find my path. Yup, I still carry the weight, and I do hear the clock. Fortunately, Phoenix has amazing open studio opportunities, and when I end a week in which I've drawn/painted from life for 15 hours, go figure....I feel amazing.
I've always said that to me, the key to sustained happiness is finding something that you enjoy doing, and GROW in that thing. The rule though is that that thing cannot be directly related to or done in the name of family, friends, material gain....It must be yours and yours alone.
One book that has changed the game for me is called The War of Art (play on Art of War). It's a but kicker, and a must read for too many reasons to list here.
Thanks again, and happy new year!

Thanks for another great year of podcasts siblings!
I'm not going to drop an essay this time :-), I just want to say Happy New Year and God Bless you all! I can't wait to see what you guys have in store for 2014.

Peace,

P.S. There's a great design podcast called Adventures in Design on iTunes. They cover a wide range of topics from graphic design to illustration to typography, but ultimately it's a show about 2 guys (later 3) sitting around and discussing art and life. They remind me a lot of you guys, except they're white. lol
Also they interview some amazing artists like Kevin Tong and Daniel Danger.

Wow, yo. Real talk: I *loved* this episode. Thanks for being so open and real, you guys. That's just awesome. Been listening since episode 19 (Phil Lamarr) and I'm still listening today. Much love for the entire crew and I wish you all the best for the new year. Cheers!

(RE: Mike C., thank you, thank you, thank you SO much for listening to the show, my man! We are floored that you've checked it out for this long. Much appreciate the ears and this note, too. Trying to be more open and transparent in the years to come. Take care and all the best with your art (which is terrific) and your health! *wink*)
